Urlaub 2022 – Griechenland

As you see, i try to comment everything in english. I’ll miss four english lessons during my holidays an the day planned ill afterwards. I invite all of you to correct all mistakes i make (including my teacher).

Für alle deutschen Follower: ich werde alle Blogbeiträge ausschließlich in Englisch verfassen. Ich verpasse 4 Wochen Unterricht durch die 3 Wochen Urlaub plus die Krankschreibung wegen der Magenspiegelung. Es gibt diverse Übersetzungsprogramme, von Google bis (und vor allem) deepl.com – nutzt sie, oder lasst es.

Vorbereitung – Alles vor dem Abflug

Where to start with. My parents were at Creta at 2019. Our neightbours were there too, their travel guide is from 2005 😯. So we’ll see, what we’ll explore there.

Our hotel is all-inclusive. So we can do whatever we want. Cayaking, archery, beach volleyball, fitness courses without fee. Windsurfing, diving, swimming courses with fee.

We’ll rent a car for sightseeing. Heraklion, Knossos and a lot of other places are worth to visit.

Only a few days to go

The bad news of today 😣

I am „happy“ not to spend our holidays in an country of the British Commonwealth. Whether Her Majesty survives or not, there would not be possible to relax and to enjoy.

Hopes and prayers für #QueenElizabeth. We are all not ready for loosing Her Majesty.

Καλημέρα

After arriving yesterday late in the evening today we started to explore the hotel and the water park.

We had a lazy day, having breakfast, walking around, swimming, relaxing, reading and so on.

Ηράκλειο / Κνω(σ)σός

Today we took a guided tour to Heraklion and Knossos.

To describe the ancient palace is to much and to complicated in english for me. Auf you want to learn more about it, use Wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knossos .

Afterwards we took a short tour through Heraklions old town. There are only 3 older buildings left. There were earthquakes regularly and the city was bombed during WWII, so a lot of builings were destroyed.

We finished our tour visiting the Heraklion Archeological Museum. This is one of the oldest and most important museums of Greece. It has an unique Minoan collection and covers all periods of the Cretan prehistory. More on the website: https://heraklionmuseum.gr/language/en/home/ .

Now our feets hurt, we are tired and hungry.

Slippery when wet

Two days later at the pool: i slipped and sprained my left big toe. It turned purple and swelled. So no sports possible.

The day after we tried archery. After the first day missing nearly everything,  we got better from day to day.

Yesterday we played 5 times 3 arrows each. Our results were 44 and 47 points. Not bad, not good.
